weCLIMB

Overview

What the weCLIMB module does, which roles use it, and where each part lives in the menu.

weCLIMB is where your district records classroom observations, gives teachers feedback, runs coaching cycles, and completes summative performance reviews. Observers fill in your district’s forms during or after a classroom visit, teachers read the results and respond, and administrators track where observations stand across schools.

  • Classroom observations. An observer picks a teacher, a school, and a form set, records answers and feedback, and submits. Depending on the form set, the teacher is then asked to reflect on or acknowledge the observation before it closes. See Observations.
  • Teacher reflection and acknowledgment. Teachers respond from the observation page or from a link in their email. See Reflection & Acknowledgment.
  • Coaching cycles. Coaches keep a roster of teachers, schedule visits, and track action steps. See Coaching.
  • Performance reviews. Evaluators complete summative reviews within an evaluation period and can attach formal observations to them. See Performance Reviews.
  • Dashboards and reports. Administrators see coverage, stalled work, and feedback quality on the Observe Dashboard, and run detailed reports.
  • Forms and settings. The forms observers fill in, their rubrics, and account-wide options such as notifications and comments. See Forms & Rubrics and Other Settings.

Your administrator assigns roles on your user record. A person can hold several roles, and the menu shows only what your roles allow.

RoleTypical job titlesWhat it allows in weCLIMB
ObserverCoaches, assistant principals, department headsStart observations of teachers in their schools (New Observation) and see the ones they conducted (Conducted Observations)
ObservableTeachers, paraprofessionals, counselorsBe observed, and see their own submitted observations (My Observations)
EvaluatorPrincipals, assistant principalsStart and conduct performance reviews
ReporterDistrict data staff, administratorsThe Reports menu
Organization AdministratorPrincipals, district administratorsAll Observations for the schools they belong to, the Observe Dashboard, and the Admin Dashboard
System AdministratorDistrict office staffTenant-wide setup, such as subdivisions, evaluation periods, and settings, plus the Observe Dashboard

A system administrator does not see All Observations unless they also hold the Organization Administrator role. A principal who observes teachers needs the Observer role as well as Organization Administrator.

Two people with different roles see different menus. This help center follows the same order as the menu.

If you have only one dashboard, it appears in the menu on its own instead of inside Dashboards.

Administrators without the Reporter role do not see the Reports menu, but they can still open reports from links on the Observe Dashboard and the Admin Dashboard.

Evaluation periods are set up under System Administration > Subdivisions > Evaluation Periods. They are covered in Performance Reviews because reviews are where they are used.

A school is ready for observations when it has class periods, grade levels, and content areas attached, teachers with the Observable role, and at least one form set it can use. Every observation records a class period, grade level, and content area, so an empty dropdown on the observation form means the school is not set up yet. See Class Periods, Content Areas, and Grade Levels and Getting a School Ready for Observations.

  1. Ask your administrator to confirm your roles.
  2. Look through the form sets your district uses, so you know what each observation asks for.
  3. Start with an informal walkthrough to learn the form. See Conducting Your First Observation.
  4. If you are a teacher, see Your Observations as a Teacher.
