Release Notes: By School and Observer Activity Reports

Overview

The By School and Observer Activity reports now look and work like the other Observation Reports: the same summary cards, date-range picker, filters, and table. Both reports gain a searchable Schools dropdown beside the search box, and By School gains a CSV export.

Observer Activity no longer has a weekly target. The Heads-up for support notes below cover what was removed and what to say when someone asks.

At a glance

• Both reports use the shared date-range picker: Last 30 Days, Last 90 Days, This Month, This Quarter, Last Year, This Year, All Time, or custom dates.
• A new Schools dropdown on both reports: type to find a school, tick one or more, and the table updates as you tick.
• By School gains four summary cards (Schools, Observations, Staff Never Observed, Stuck Observations), a school search, and Export CSV.
• By School lists organizations with no form set or no staff as grey rows at the bottom of the table.
• Observer Activity moves its Activity choice (All Observers, Recorded Nothing, Recorded At Least One) into the Filter window.
• Observer Activity removes the weekly target, the Below / Near / On target labels, and the Fall, Spring, and Summer date presets.
• Both reports drop their status colours: grey cards and plain numbers.
• Fixed: on reports that load as you scroll, a filter changed while results were still loading could be ignored. The newest filter now always applies.
• Checkbox dropdown filters, here and on the dashboards that use them, now close with Escape or when you Tab away.

What changed: By School

What changed

The report shows one row per school. Schools with stuck observations sort to the top, then the schools with the most staff nobody has observed, then the slowest to close.

The columns are Observations, Never Observed, Coverage, Feedback, Median Days to Close, In Progress, Stuck, and Oldest Stuck. A stuck observation is a submitted observation that has waited 11 days or more on its current step.

The default date range is the last 90 days. In Progress, Stuck, and Oldest Stuck always show where things stand today, whatever date range is picked.

Export CSV downloads the same rows the screen shows, with a Status column (Observable, No form set, or No staff to observe).

Heads-up for support

• “The rows add up to more than the cards.” Staff who belong to more than one school appear in each of those schools’ rows. The cards count each person once. Both figures are correct.
• “Why is this school grey with no numbers?” It has staff but no form set, or no staff at all. These organizations usually exist for licensing or rostering.
• “I picked last month, but Stuck still shows old observations.” Unfinished work is shown as of today on purpose, so a short date range never hides it.

The toolbar now matches By School: date range, search, All Schools, then Filter and Export CSV. The Filter window holds the Activity choice.

The weekly target is gone, along with the Below Target card, the Below / Near / On target labels, and the target in the CSV export. Three cards remain: Observers, Observations, and Median per Active Week.

The How to use this report window is rewritten to match the screen.

Links from the Observe Dashboard, such as Observers who recorded nothing, still open the report already filtered.

Heads-up for support

• “Where did the weekly target go?” It has been removed for now. Per Active Week still shows each observer’s pace; sorting by it puts the slowest observers at the top.
• “Where are Fall and Spring?” The date picker no longer has semester presets. Use custom dates, or This Year / Last Year.
• “Where did the All Observers dropdown go?” It is in the Filter window, labelled Activity.

Turning it on

Nothing to enable. Both reports are available to system administrators and organization administrators on accounts with weCLIMB enabled, under weCLIMB → Observation Reports.
