Coaching Cycles: Turn Observations Into Ongoing Growth
Section titled “Coaching Cycles: Turn Observations Into Ongoing Growth”Coaching shouldn’t stop when the observation ends. Coaching Cycles brings instructional coaching into the same place you already run observations — so an action step you set during a visit follows the teacher all the way to the next one, with everyone able to see the progress in between.
Why it helps
Section titled “Why it helps”A single observation is a snapshot. Real growth happens between visits — in the follow-up, the practice, the next conversation. Until now that follow-through lived in notebooks, spreadsheets, and memory. Coaching Cycles keeps it in one place, connected to the observations it came from, so coaching becomes a continuous cycle instead of a series of one-off visits.
What you can do
Section titled “What you can do”- Pair coaches with the teachers they support — each coach gets a “My Roster” with a cadence indicator on every teacher: On track, Due soon, Overdue, or Not started.
- Assign action steps straight from an observation and carry them forward — complete, defer, revise, or remove them, and pick up right where you left off at the next visit.
- Reuse your best action steps from a shared template library instead of retyping them.
- Recommend a course from your licensed eLearn catalog right on an action step, then watch it move from Recommended → Enrolled → Completed.
- Give teachers a “My Coaching” page that leads with what they’re working on now and celebrates what they’ve made part of their practice.
- Nudge at the right moment with optional reminder emails — teachers when a step is coming due, coaches when a visit is overdue.
- See the whole picture on a Coaching Dashboard: coverage, completion rates, visit cadence, top focus areas, and more — with CSV export.
Private by design
Section titled “Private by design”Coaching is a relationship, not a report. The action steps, notes, and the coaching conversation are visible only to the coach and the teacher. Administrators see activity and follow-through — who’s being coached, how often, completion rates — never the private contents of a step or reflection.
Getting started
Section titled “Getting started”Coaching Cycles is turned on per account by an administrator (reminder emails are a separate switch). Once it’s on, coaches work from My Roster, teachers see My Coaching in their sidebar, and administrators can open the Coaching Dashboard for reporting.
