This guide covers how to view your professional development transcripts, download certificates, and manage your completion records in PD Edge Learn.

Viewing Your Transcripts

Your transcript shows all completed professional development content with dates, scores, and hours earned.

Accessing Transcripts

You can view transcripts in several ways:

  1. Personal Dashboard: Your completion history appears on your Learn dashboard
  2. Individual Content: Completion status shows on each course or assessment page
  3. Reporting Section: (Reporter role) - Access comprehensive transcript reports

What's Included in Transcripts

Your transcript records include:

  • Completion Date: When you finished the content
  • Final Score: Your score on assessments (if applicable)
  • Professional Development Hours: Time credited for completion
  • Certificate Status: Whether a certificate was earned
  • Attempts: Number of times you accessed the content

Downloading Certificates

Certificates are automatically generated when you complete qualifying content and meet passing requirements.

Finding Your Certificates

  1. Navigate to completed content in your dashboard
  2. Look for the certificate icon or "View Certificate" link
  3. Click to open the certificate in a new window

Certificate Display

When viewing a certificate:

  • The certificate opens in a PDF viewer
  • You can print directly from the viewer
  • The certificate includes your name, completion date, and content details
  • Proctored assessments show proctor information

Printing Certificates

  1. Click Print in the certificate viewer
  2. Your browser's print dialog will open
  3. Select your printer and print settings
  4. Click Print to create a hard copy

Understanding PD Hours

Professional development hours are automatically calculated based on content completion.

How Hours Are Calculated

  • Courses: Based on estimated completion time set by the publisher
  • Videos: Actual video duration
  • PDFs: Estimated reading time
  • Assessments: Estimated completion time

Hour Requirements

Different content types may have different hour values:

  • Required Content: Must be completed for compliance
  • Recommended Content: Suggested for professional growth
  • Elective Content: Optional professional development

Certificate Types and Requirements

PD Edge supports different certificate types based on content and completion criteria.

Completion Certificates

Awarded when you:

  • Complete all required sections of a course
  • Meet minimum time requirements
  • Finish all interactive elements

Achievement Certificates

Awarded when you:

  • Pass an assessment with the required score
  • Meet all completion AND performance criteria
  • Complete proctored content under supervision

Professional Development Certificates

Include:

  • PD Hours: Professional development time earned
  • Completion Date: When requirements were met
  • Content Details: What was completed
  • Issuing Organization: Your school or district

Sharing Credentials

You can share your professional development records with administrators or other organizations.

  • Individual certificates (as PDF files)
  • Completion status for specific content
  • Professional development hour totals
  • Transcript summaries

Sharing Methods

  1. Print Certificates: Create physical copies
  2. Download PDFs: Save digital copies to share
  3. Reporting Access: (Contact your administrator) - They can generate official transcript reports

Manual Input Options

Some organizations allow manual entry of external professional development.

When Manual Input Is Available

Your administrator may enable manual input for:

  • Conference attendance
  • External training completion
  • Prior professional development hours
  • Non-digital learning experiences

Requesting Manual Input

If you need external PD added to your transcript:

  1. Contact your system administrator
  2. Provide documentation of completion
  3. Include details about hours, dates, and content
  4. Wait for administrator approval and entry

Role-Based Access

Different users have different transcript and certificate access:

All Users

  • View their own completion records
  • Download their own certificates
  • See their professional development hours

Administrators (system_administrator, organization_administrator)

  • View transcripts for users in their organizations
  • Generate transcript reports
  • Export completion data
  • Add manual entries (if enabled)

Reporters (reporter role)

  • Access transcript reporting tools
  • Generate organization-wide completion summaries
  • Export professional development data

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Certificate Won't Open

  • Ensure you have a PDF viewer installed
  • Try refreshing the page
  • Contact your administrator if the issue persists

Missing Certificates

  • Verify you met all completion requirements
  • Check that you passed required assessments
  • Some content may not generate certificates automatically

Incorrect Hours

  • Professional development hours are set by content publishers
  • Contact your administrator if hours seem incorrect
  • Manual adjustments may require administrator action
