Accessing Your Courses

You can access your assigned courses and learning content from multiple locations within the Learn module. This article explains how to navigate to your courses and understand the different types of content available.

Accessing Courses from the Dashboard

The Learn dashboard provides the quickest access to your courses and content.

  1. Navigate to the Learn dashboard from the main menu

  2. Look for these sections on your dashboard:

    • Continue Content: Shows courses you've started but haven't completed
    • Required Content: Displays courses that are required for you to complete
    • Content Libraries: Collections of related courses and materials
    • Learning Paths: Structured sequences of courses
  3. Click on any course card to launch the content

Navigating to Course Collections

Content Libraries

Content Libraries organize courses by subject, topic, or skill area.

  1. Click Content Libraries from the Learn menu
  2. Browse available libraries by scrolling through the cards
  3. Click on a library to view the courses it contains
  4. Use the search bar to find specific content by name
  5. Filter courses by:
    • Topics: Subject matter categories
    • Skills: Specific competencies
    • Subjects: Academic areas

Course Categories

You can also access courses by their type:

  1. Look for course category links in the Learn menu (varies by organization)

  2. Common categories include:

    • Courses
    • Assessments
    • Videos
    • Documents
  3. Click on any category to view all content of that type

Understanding Course Types and Status

Course Status Indicators

Courses display different background colors based on their status:

  • Green background: Completed courses
  • Yellow background: Required courses
  • Red background: Failed assessments that need to be retaken
  • White background: Available courses not yet started
  • Orange background: Courses in progress

Course Information

Each course card shows:

  • Course type: Video, Assessment, Document, etc.
  • Item number: Unique identifier (if applicable)
  • Publisher: Content creator
  • Duration: Estimated completion time (when available)
  • Description: Brief overview of the content
  • Requirements: Whether the course is required and any completion deadlines

Course Icons

Look for these icons on course cards:

  • Play button: Click to launch the course
  • Clock icon: Shows estimated duration
  • Asterisk: Indicates required content
  • Street view icon: Shows proctored content requiring supervision

Viewing Course Assignments

Required Courses

Required courses appear with special indicators:

  1. Yellow background on course cards
  2. Red asterisk icon with "Required" text
  3. Completion deadline (if applicable)

Required courses may come from:

  • Direct assignments from administrators
  • Recommended content based on your role
  • Learning path requirements

Course Availability

Some courses may have:

  • Start dates: When you can begin the course
  • End dates: When access expires
  • License limits: Limited number of users who can access the content

Searching and Filtering Courses

Using Search

  1. Locate the search bar in any course listing
  2. Enter course names, item numbers, or keywords
  3. Results update automatically as you type

Applying Filters

Use sidebar filters to narrow your course list:

  1. By Topic: Select relevant subject areas
  2. By Status: Show only completed, required, or in-progress courses
  3. By Category: Filter by course type or subject

Status Filters

Click these filter buttons to view specific course statuses:

  • Completed: Courses you've finished successfully
  • Required: Courses you must complete
  • Not Started: Available courses you haven't begun
  • In-Progress: Courses you've started but haven't finished
  • Failed: Assessments that need to be retaken (for assessment content)

Course Access Requirements

Standard Access

Most courses can be accessed directly by clicking the play button on the course card.

Proctored Content

Some assessments require supervision:

  1. Look for the street view icon on course cards
  2. You may need to enter an enrollment code provided by your proctor
  3. Wait for the proctored session to begin before starting

License Restrictions

If you see "No license available":

  1. Contact your administrator
  2. Check if the course has enrollment limits
  3. Verify your organization has active licenses for the content

Next Steps

Once you've located your courses, you can:

  • Launch courses by clicking the play button
  • Track your progress through the dashboard
  • View completion certificates in your transcript
  • Contact administrators if you need access to additional content

Your course progress and completion status sync automatically across all areas of the platform, so you can start a course in one location and continue it from another.
