Accessing Your Learning Content

PD Edge Learn organizes your professional development content across multiple areas. You can access courses, assessments, videos, PDFs, and other learning materials through several entry points.

Learn Dashboard Overview

Your Learn dashboard serves as the central hub for all learning activities. Access it from the main navigation menu.

Dashboard Sections

The dashboard displays several content areas:

  • Continue Content — Resume courses and assessments you've started
  • Required Content — Assignments with completion deadlines
  • Content Libraries — Collections of related materials
  • Learning Paths — Structured sequences of courses

Finding Content by Type

Accessing Content Libraries

Content libraries group related materials by subject, grade level, or topic.

  1. Navigate to Learn → Content Libraries
  2. Browse available collections using the card view
  3. Click any library to view its contents
  4. Use the search box to find specific materials
  5. Filter by topics, skills, or subjects using the sidebar

Browsing Learning Paths

Learning paths provide structured sequences of professional development content.

  1. Go to Learn → Learning Paths
  2. Select a path from the available options
  3. View the sequence of courses and assessments
  4. Start with the first item or resume where you left off

Exploring Course Categories

Access specific types of learning content through category pages:

  1. From the Learn dashboard, click any content type
  2. Use category filters to narrow your search:
    • Topics — Subject-specific content
    • Skills — Professional competencies
    • Subjects — Academic areas
  3. Apply status filters:
    • Completed — Content you've finished
    • Required — Mandatory assignments
    • Not Started — Available new content
    • In-Progress — Partially completed materials

Understanding Content Organization

Content Status Indicators

Content displays with color-coded backgrounds indicating your progress:

  • Green background — Completed content
  • Yellow background — Required assignments
  • Red background — Failed assessments requiring retakes
  • White background — Available optional content

Content Information

Each content item shows:

  • Content type — Course, assessment, video, or PDF
  • Publisher — Content creator organization
  • Estimated time — Expected completion duration
  • Requirements — Whether content is mandatory
  • Due dates — Completion deadlines for required items
  • Prerequisites — Required prior learning

Accessing Specific Content

Starting Courses and Assessments

  1. Click the play button on any content card
  2. Review any prerequisites or requirements
  3. Begin the content immediately or bookmark for later

Continuing In-Progress Content

  1. Find partially completed items in the "Continue Content" section
  2. Click the play button to resume from your last position
  3. Your progress automatically saves as you work

Required Content Deadlines

Required assignments display completion deadlines prominently:

  1. Review due dates in the "Required Content" section
  2. Prioritize items approaching their deadlines
  3. Contact your administrator if you need deadline extensions

Searching and Filtering

Using Search Features

  1. Enter keywords in any search box to find specific content
  2. Search works across content titles, descriptions, and item numbers
  3. Use specific terms for better results (e.g., "classroom management")

Applying Filters

Most content areas offer filtering options:

  1. Category filters — Topics, skills, subjects
  2. Status filters — Completion progress
  3. Content type filters — Courses, assessments, videos
  4. Organization filters — Content from specific departments

Clearing Filters

Reset your view by clicking the clear filter option or refreshing the page.

Content Licensing and Availability

Some content may show licensing restrictions or availability windows. Contact your system administrator if you cannot access expected materials.

Content marked as "Proctored" requires supervision and cannot be completed independently. Your administrator will schedule proctored sessions for these assessments.
