Understanding Progress Metrics
The report tracks several key progress indicators:
Percentage Complete: How much of the content the learner has finished, calculated based on sections, chapters, or modules completed.
Attempts: Number of times a learner has started or restarted the content, particularly important for assessments.
Status Categories:
- Not Started: Content assigned but never accessed
- In Progress: Learner has begun but not completed the content
- Completed: Content finished successfully
- Failed: Assessment completed but did not meet passing requirements
Time Tracking: When content was assigned, started, and completed.

Assessments: Typically shows 0% until completed, then jumps to 100% upon passing
Video Content: Calculated by time watched versus total video duration
Sequential Learning Paths: Progress through the required sequence of content
Working with Progress Data
Identifying At-Risk Learners
Look for patterns that indicate learners who may need support:
- High number of attempts without completion
- Long gaps between start date and last activity
- Content started but showing 0% progress
Monitoring Required Training
Use filters to focus on required content and identify:
- Overdue assignments
- Learners who haven't started required training
- Completion rates by organization or department
Tracking Assessment Performance
For assessment content, monitor:
- Multiple attempts indicating difficulty
- Failed attempts requiring intervention
- Completion patterns across similar assessments

Understanding Progress Statuses
Not Started with Attempts > 0: Learner accessed content but system shows no measurable progress yet
In Progress with High Percentage: Learner is nearly finished but hasn't completed final requirements
Completed vs. Passed: For assessments, "Completed" means finished while "Passed" indicates meeting score requirements
Best Practices
Regular Monitoring: Check progress weekly to identify learners falling behind
Proactive Intervention: Contact learners showing no progress within expected timeframes
Pattern Recognition: Look for content that consistently shows low completion rates, which may indicate difficulty or technical issues
Organization Comparison: Use organization filters to compare progress across departments or schools
This report provides the detailed insight needed to ensure all learners successfully complete their professional development requirements.
