Required Progress Report

The Required Progress Report tracks completion of required and recommended content for current assignments. Use it to monitor compliance with mandatory training, follow up on people who haven't started a required course, and verify that certification or onboarding requirements are being met before a deadline.

What This Report Covers

The report shows one row per person and content pairing, limited to current, active assignments. It includes:

  • Required content — content explicitly required by an organization the person belongs to

  • Recommended content — content recommended to a person, drawn from a license available through their organization

Expired or inactive product assignments, expired or inactive licenses, and historical (prior school year) requirements are excluded — only what each person needs right now appears in the report.

Accessing the Report

  1. Navigate to Reports → Learn Reports

  2. Click Required Progress

You can also reach the report from the breadcrumb: LEARN → Reports → Required Progress.

Required Role: Reporter, System Administrator, or Organization Administrator.

Understanding the Columns

  • Person — Each person's row also displays their email and the organizations the requirement(s) on this row come from. If a person has multiple requirements rooted in different organizations, all originating organizations appear.

  • Product — The course or content the person is required or recommended to complete.

  • Assigned On — The date the person was assigned the content. For recommended content this is the recommendation date; for required content it is the assignment date.

  • Complete By — The deadline set on the assignment, if any.

  • Started On — The date the person first opened the content.

  • Completed On — The date the person reached 100% completion.

  • Progress — Percentage complete.

Filtering Results

Search

Use the search box above the table to filter by person name (first, last, or first + last) or by content name. Results update as you type.

Status Quick-Filter

The status button next to the search box lets you narrow the report by progress:

  • Not Started — Person has no enrollment, or has an enrollment with 0% progress.

  • In Progress — Person has started but is below 100%.

  • Completed — Person has reached 100%.

Multiple statuses can be selected at once. The button label updates to reflect the current selection ("All Statuses", a single status name, or a count when several are selected).

Advanced Filters

Click the Filter button (top right) to open the filter panel. The following filters are available:

  • Content — Limit to specific courses or guided content. The dropdown shows only content that's visible to your role.

  • Users — Limit to specific people. Active users only.

  • Organizations — Limit to requirements that originated from the selected organization(s).

  • Important: this filter is based on which organization made the content required (or made the license available for recommendation), not simply on which organizations the person belongs to.

  • If a person belongs to several organizations and only one of those organizations required a particular course, only that organization's requirement appears when you filter to it.

  • Content Type — Filter by guided content type.

  • Topics, Subjects, or Skills — Filter by content category.

Filters compound — selecting more than one filter narrows the results further with each addition. The current criteria appear as a small note above the table.

Sorting

Click any column header to sort by that column. Click again to reverse the sort direction. Available sort columns: Person, Product, Assigned On, Complete By, Started On, Completed On, Progress.

Exporting

The three-dot menu at the top right of the report opens an Export dropdown with two options:

  • Export PDF — Downloads a formatted PDF, branded with your organization's settings.

  • Export CSV — Downloads a CSV with the columns Person, Organizations, Product, Assigned On, Complete By, Start On, Completed On, Progress.

Exports always reflect your current filters, search, and sort. The export runs as a background job and downloads automatically when ready.

Common Use Cases

  • Compliance tracking — Verify that mandatory safety training, certification renewals, or onboarding requirements are completed by the deadline.

  • At-risk follow-up — Combine the Not Started status with an organization or content filter to identify people who haven't begun a required course as a deadline approaches.

  • New-hire onboarding — Filter by a New Hire group to review onboarding completion rates across recent hires.

  • Content rollout audit — When a new required course is published, filter by that content to see overall progress and identify pockets of low engagement.

  • Content Type — Filter by guided content type.

  • Topics, Subjects, or Skills — Filter by content category.

Permissions and Data Scope

The report respects your role and organizational scope:

  • System Administrator — Sees required progress across the entire account.

  • Organization Administrator — Sees progress for people within the organizations you administer.

  • Reporter — Sees only data you have read access to.

Filters and exports are automatically scoped to your permissions. Filter dropdowns only show content, users, and organizations you're authorized to see, and the report results never include data from outside your scope.
